July 6, 1916 - February 11, 2020

On July 6, 1916, in, Fayette, Mississippi Roger Smith, and Ellen Banks gave birth to a bouncing baby girl Susie Smith.

She was educated in the public schools of Jefferson County, Mississippi where she grew up with her 3 siblings.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and united with the Mt. Israel Baptist Church, under the pastorate of the late Rev. Henry (Grooning) Smith.

Looking for a better way of life around the age of 21, she migrated to Los Angeles, California.

She met and married Benjamin Watkins who preceded her in death. Later, she had 3 children, Peter Williams, Pearl Williams, and James Williams.

Susie worked as a Domestic Worker for many years to help support her family.

On the morning of February 11, 2020, Susie is better known as "Big Susie." peacefully went home to join our Creator after a brief illness.
