A time to morn " Harmodio transitioned into his Heavenly home on August 22, 2018, at his home with his devoted wife by his side.
A time to embrace " Exploring his new surroundings, he came to love the mild West Coast weather and enjoyed regular trips to Las Vegas with his wife and her cousins, James and Carla Bronson.
A time to plant " He attended both primary and high school in Panama City before relocating to the United States in 1966. A longtime resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., he worked odd jobs for many years, including the airline and supermarket industries.
A time to love " He was joined in Holy Matrimony on July 29, 2000 to his loving wife, Brenda Slan.
A time to laugh " He will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of family, music, his jokes about the "crazy" California weather and his pleasure of speaking his native tongue " Spanish. Also for his collection of colorful caps and always lending a helping hand. Let's not forget his love for the New York Mets, New York Giants and San Antonio Spurs.
A time for peace " Harmodio leaves to cherish his memories of 18 years a loving wife, Brenda Slan Cruz, a sister, Vianca Muria, two sons, Hermodio Cruz Jr., and Ricardo Cruz, a daughter, Monique Cruz, seven grandchildren: Harmodio Cruz III, Cassidy, Christina, Kayla, Keemie, Keeme, Dede, and Neshawn Cruz; two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marcelino L. Cruz and Angela D. Thompson, four sisters: Yolanda, Sonia, Alva and Olivia; and two brothers, Cornelio and Manuel Cruz.
The family of Harmodio Cruz would like to thank you for the many acts of loving-kindness shown to us during our bereavement. Your thoughtfulness is deeply appreciated and will always be remembered.
